“I am surprised that the Nauru students are making education their priority, when a murder charge is smiling.”
That was highlighted by Suva Judge Justice Salesi Temo to the Defense Counsel who represented the three students of Nauru charged with the alleged murder of a 22-year-old Tongan student in June this year.
This is after the Defense Counsel Romanu Vananalagi asked Judge Temo for an extension of a curfew for one of the students who is preparing for his Form 6 external examination and is having evening classes.
However Judge Temo said the prosecution must file information and disclosures to his office, before he makes a decision.
The case is expected to be called on the 20th of February next year.
