The Ministry for Health and Medical Services will be opening more fever clinics around the country where people with fever like symptoms can check themselves rather than going to a health centre which can be detrimental if results are positive for coronavirus.

This has been highlighted by Chief Medical Advisor, Doctor Jemesa Tudravu during a press conference stating that two fever facilities have been opened in Lautoka and they are intending to increase this number and open other clinics around the country.

He adds the focus of the fever clinic is to increase the Ministry’s capabilities to be able to identify the people who are potentially a COVID-19 suspect.

Dr Tudravu also stressed that people should stop spreading rumors or misinformation of any new cases and respect patient confidentiality.

He says it is also concerning the high level of vilification of the victim that is currently in isolation and has asked the people to stop this as the situation we are in now is not only about the victim but everyone in the country.
