To ensure that the Fiji National Provident Fund does not incur any further losses through the Momi Bay Resort project and has control over the property, the government promulgated the Momi Decree yesterday.
As a number of initial developers of the multi million dollar Momi bay resort project continue to mount court battles to recover their losses, Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum revealed that the decree will ensure that FNPF can move ahead with its plans for Momi without further interferences.
However, Sayed Khaiyum stressed the decree will not affect any proceedings institute in the courts by trade creditors.
The Attorney General also highlighted that through the various court proceedings and other related expenses, the FNPF has incurred a total $121 million towards the Momi Bay resort project.
