Sigatoka Valley High School

A parent from Sigatoka has raised concerns claiming that her son who is a Year 9 student of Sigatoka Valley High School, was assaulted in school by a classmate yesterday.

She has raised the issue that her son has told her that when the son went to complain to the Assistant Principal, the son was allegedly told that he complains too much.

She says her son asked the Assistant Principal what if someone hits him and he dies.

The mother says when she went to pick her son from school in the afternoon, he relayed the message to her and she claims that when she spoke to the Principal about it, he allegedly got angry with her.

She says when she told the Principal that she will take the matter further, he told her that she can go ahead.

The mother says that she has lodged a complaint with the Ministry of Education.

The Ministry of Education has confirmed that they have received the complaint and they will investigate the matter.
