Merging into Tier One status will not be easy for the Fiji Water Flying Fijians, as they prepare to face two of the top nations in world rugby—Australia and Scotland.

This was highlighted by Swire Shipping Fijian Drua prop Mesake Doge during an interview with fijivillage Sports.

The robust Macuata native, who has maternal links to Bau in Tailevu, says the journey has been exciting so far.

Doge says it is every player’s dream to play international rugby against top-tier teams and to perform consistently at that level, measuring themselves against the best in the game.

He acknowledges the short turnaround time for preparation but believes the players can build a formidable combination and compete strongly against both teams.

The Flying Fijians will face the Wallabies at 3.30pm this Sunday at the Newcastle International Sports Centre.

They will then take on Scotland on the 12th of this month at 3pm at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
