The Ba soccer team has successfully defended their Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants soccer tournament after beating Lautoka 3-1 in the final at Govind Park yesterday afternoon.
Lautoka took the lead in the 11th minute of the first half after a 39 meter shot from skipper Alvin Avinesh could not be saved by the Ba goalkeeper.
Ba replied just before halftime through a goal from Ronil Kumar after a mistake from the Lautoka goalkeeper.
Avinesh Waran Swamy and Osea Vakatalesau scored in the second half to give the Men-in-Black their 16th BOG title.
Ba soccer president Rishi Kumar said their sacrifices have paid off.
Ba captain Osea Vakatalesau was jubilant after the victory and said the win did not come easy.
Vakatalesau also dedicated the win to the late Na Momo Na Tui Ba Ratu Sairusi Nagagavoka.
Meanwhile, the Best Player of the Tournament award was given to Ilisoni Logivou of Labasa.
Nadroga beat Labasa 1-0 to claim third spot.
John Rounds Junior scored the lone goal for the Stallions.
Earlier, Nasinu beat Dreketi 1-0 to take out the Premier Division title.
