Creators of Matchstix Fiji, an app made for Fijians say it is not a dating app.
Matchstix Fiji General Manager Adam Inglis says the app is not used for dating but to find friends by matching their interests.
Inglis says they have a verification system in place to ensure that anyone under the age of 18 will not be using the app.
He adds users will only be able to chat with accepted people in their age group.
He says they will not be able to monitor chats between users.
An ambassador for the app, Sameer Ali says people can have their own interpretation of what the app should be used as.
He says it can also be seen as a dating app but positively it should be used to find friends of same interests.
The Matchstix Fiji app will only be available on iOS, Android devices, Google Play Store and Apple Play Store.
