The Rock can smell the Samoan rugby league team cooking up a boilover World Cup victory and now the Hollywood star has sent a five-minute inspirational message to the Toa Samoa.

Dwayne Johnson has also jokingly said he would love to play in the Rugby League World Cup final against Australia on Sunday, but is worried that he would get smashed if he did.

The former wrestling star and current action movie icon The Rock has Samoan heritage through his mother Ata and famous grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia.

His message of support comes after several NRL fans including former winger and Footy Show funnyman Beau Ryan called for Johnson to send a message to the Samoan team on social media.

Samoa stunned the rugby league world by reaching the final for the first time in a thrilling win over hosts England in the semi-final.

The Toa Samoa will take on Australia at 4am Sunday.
