Mark Shaheel Lal, a member of the LGBTQ+ community has courageously come forward to share his journey of living with HIV and says his decision to speak publicly about his experience is a powerful message for anyone who feels alone or ashamed of their circumstances.

Lal says that he believes that living with HIV is not a death sentence, nor a mark of shame.

He shares that his diagnosis has made him stronger and more resilient, not weaker and encourages others to embrace their truth with pride.

Lal says for too long, he lived in silence, consumed by his own fears and the stigma surrounding HIV, but today, he has chosen to step into the light, becoming the first in his community to share that he is HIV positive openly.

He adds it is not something that holds him back, but rather, it has become a part of his strength.

He says he is not defined by his diagnosis but by his courage, love, and the strength that has been forged through his journey.

Lal says that every challenge, every tear and every fear he has faced has made him more whole and more determined to live authentically.

Lal’s message to others who feel the weight of shame or loneliness is that they are not alone, their truth matters and their story is powerful.

He says the world may try to silence those who are different, but together, we are stronger and louder than ever.

Lal urges those struggling to understand that they are worthy and loved.

Lal says his journey is just beginning and he is determined to rise above stigma, helping others do the same.

He says that he is proudly a part of the LGBTQ+ community, living with HIV and standing tall with pride.
