Lau islands to get water tanks for drinking

Islands in Lau that rely on rainwater for drinking will soon be supplied with water tanks.

Divisional Commissioner Eastern Netani Rika said following a recent tour of the group, priority will be given to such islands.

Rika said once water tanks are set up, other projects like water exploration and bore hole drilling will also be done on these islands.

Rika added following his trip, pending government development projects are expected to be completed soon.

He said reports are now being compiled with priority given to projects that should be undertaken soon.

The ones that are not so urgent he said will be done in the later quarters of the year.

The Divisional Commissioner Eastern recently took a two week tour to the Lau province.
