The latest fashion trends from local and international designers will be the focus at tonight’s Fiji Fashion Week 10th Anniversary Trend Setters Show.

Established local Designer Ilai Jikoiono is one of the many designers that will be dominating the runway the latest collection from his label.

Jikoiono who won the Emerging Designer of the Year award in 2015 is the creative mind behind the label ‘ZUBER’ which also debuted at FJFW15 Trendsetters Show.

Jikoiono has been an artist all his life, he honed his skills and ability when he attended International School Suva where he undertook a vigorous Visual Arts programme from year 7 to year 12.

Jikoiono who also hails from Lau has been awarded numerous school awards for his contributions to the schools cultural life, including the prestigious Matiniciva Award.

He also travelled to New York as a representative of Fiji for an art project titled Pieces for Peace ‑ an initiative to start dialogue around the issue of domestic and international peace through art.

The year after high school, Ilai began sketching garments imagining a career as a fashion designer.

Jikoiono who has since grown into his own skin creatively is ready for tonight’s Trend Setters Show, after taking a year’s break to further enhance his skills with a program at APTC.

He says he now has a bigger appreciation for tailors and the detailed work they do to get a garment ready.

Jikoiono adds that Fiji has so much potential and we are continuing to grow in so many different aspects.

The Fiji Fashion Week 10th Year Anniversary Trend Setters Show will be held at the Vodafone Arena at 7 tonight.
