As nations in the Pacific region, we share common interests and face similar challenges, ranging from climate issues and rising sea levels to the dynamics of international geopolitics.

This has been highlighted by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto during the visit of the Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka where he says that the relationship between Indonesia and Fiji has been well established, particularly since the formal establishment of diplomatic relations.

Subianto says Indonesia’s commitment to the principles of sovereignty, peace, and international cooperation.

He also affirmed Indonesia’s steadfast adherence to a non-aligned policy and its belief in collaboration, particularly in the fields of economics and trade.

Indonesian President also highlighted that they believe the world is becoming increasingly interconnected.

He adds Fiji is Indonesia's fourth-largest trading partner in the Oceania region and reaffirms Indonesia’s commitment to strengthening this partnership.

Meanwhile, as a mark of respect, Rabuka was accorded the highest ceremonial Guard of Honour upon his arrival at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.

Rabuka was received and welcomed by Subianto.
