Hundreds of people in Nadi who use the bus services of Dominion Transport Limited have been affected as no bus drivers have turned up to work today.

Dominion Transport Limited Director Satya Nandan says that these bus drivers have not received their wages and this is why they have not turned up to work.

Nandan says their e-ticketing revenue goes to Vodafone and from there, Vodafone transfers this money to their bank account which they use for expenses such as fuel and wages.

He says that this time around they had not received their e-ticketing revenue in their bank account.

Meanwhile Vodafone Head of eCommerce and Corporate Affairs Shailendra Prasad says that they transfer the individual bus operators total e‑ticketing revenue collections minus any fee and charges directly to their nominated bank accounts on a daily basis.

Earlier today Residents of Uciwai in Nadi had raised concerns about the bus service in their area when they had to look for an alternative to get to work this morning.

Yashoda Devi who was expecting visitors says that they have been told that there would be no bus service in their area.

The Dominion Transport Limited provides bus services in Uciwai, Nalovo, Nadovi, Nawaicoba, Momi, Nabila, Malamala, Tunalia and Malolo in Nadi.
