Govt of National Unity Suggestion Draws Criticism
The suggestion by an NGO on the need to form a Government of National Unity to lead Fiji to the upcoming elections has brought negative reactions from leaders of political parties.

Ousted Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase said the idea of forming a Government of National Unity to lead Fiji to the upcoming elections makes no sense at all.

This was in reaction to comments made by the Citizens Constitutional Forum's Reverend Akuila Yabaki, calling on the Interim Government to liaise with political leaders to form a Government of National Unity to move the country forward.

Qarase adde the Interim Government should be concentrating on taking the country to the next General Elections and nothing else.
