People will have to dig deeper into their pockets as fuel prices are going up from today.

Unleaded fuel is going up by 11 cents and will now cost $2.91 per litre, diesel will cost 8 cents more at $2.58 a litre, premix has also increased to $2.73 per litre, while the price of kerosene is increasing by 3 cents to $1.99 cents per litre.

The price for a 12kg cylinder will decrease by 1 cent and will cost $41.54, while price of 4.5kg cylinder, bulk and autogas will remain the same.

The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission says the prices issued are maximum wholesale and retail prices, and the wholesalers and retailers can sell the refined fuel products on the maximum wholesale and retail prices or below the authorised prices.

They say inspectors will continue to conduct checks during the coming weeks to ensure ongoing compliance.
