Friendly Playing Turns Out Bad

A 12-year-old student of Taveuni died after he was accidently hit by a coconut by one of his friend.

Police Spokeswoman, Ema Mua had confirmed the class 7 student and his friends were playing with coconuts when one of his friends accidently threw a coconut and it landed on his forehead.

He was taken to the Taveuni Hospital by teachers.

The deceased was then given some tablets and was sent home by the doctors saying that they could not perform X-Ray because there was no electricity at the hospital.

The Class 7 student passed away last night.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health is deeply concerned with the death of the 7-year-old Taveuni boy and will be looking into the matter.

Ministry's spokeswoman Vasiti Ritova revealed that there is currently an arrangement between the Ministry and PWD officials so that there is continuous power supply to the Hospital as the Hospital generator needs specialist wires from abroad.
