Foreign national charged with one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs bailed

A foreign national charged with one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs has been granted bail by the Nadi Magistrates Court.

Sam Amine who holds a Australian Citizenship is represented by lawyer Iqbal Khan.

Police say Amine’s home was searched during the month of February, 2019 whereby illicit substances tested positive for anabolic substance which is categorized as other illicit drugs was found on his property.

Police adds Amine flew out of the country shortly after the search.

They say Amine returned to the country last week, where he was arrested upon his arrival.

Amine has had a stop departure issued and ordered not to interfere with prosecution witnesses.

Police adds the arrest was made possible in partnership with Australian Federal Police, FIU, FRCS and Fiji Immigration.
