Good news for those looking for work in the film industry as auditions for an independent feature film project called Bati will begin on the 16th of this month.
The film ‘Bati’ is a Fijian boxing sports drama due to be filmed in August this year with majority of the film to be shot in Suva and the cast and crew will be made up of Fijian citizens.

The project is being led by Tuvalu‑born filmmaker, Andrew John Fakaua Ponton who is the Producer and Director.
"Bati" will be Ponton's first feature‑length film after making many short films. His most recent short film ‑ "Islet" which was released in 2015 went on to screen at 10 film festivals around the world including the Hawaii International Film Festival and New Zealand International Film Festival.
Ponton who also grew up in Fiji has a Master's degree in Film Directing and a Bachelor's with honours in Film and Screen Media Production.
Meanwhile, the owner of Lumen Films Production Studio in Suva, Jason Chute will be the film’s Director of Photography.
The first round of auditions for the film Bati will take place at the Fiji Museum, 12pm to 4:30pm, on the 16th of this month.
