Fiji will continue on its own path - AG
Acting Prime Minister, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said Fiji will continue on its path to a new future, just as it has, on its own accord, regardless of the carrots offered or sticks brandished by certain individuals.

The governments of Australia and New Zealand have said that they will make exemptions in relation to their travel sanction policy if more civilians take up senior government positions current in Fiji.

Sayed-Khaiyum said the government acknowledges the support of the neighbours to draft a new constitution and hold truly democratic elections.

He said those who are offering the carrots or brandishing the sticks are doing it by listening to the voices of a select few individuals and organisations that are interested in themselves first.

Bob Carr made these comments during his visit to Suva earlier this week on the sanction policy against Fiji when questioned by Legend FM.
