The place to have your honeymoon is Fiji.

Fiji has been ranked one of the world’s top five honeymoon destinations on the highly influential CNN.com online travel portal.

This followed the publication of an article on the CNN.com travel website detailing the results of a recent online poll conducted by the US based ‘Brides’ magazine with top travel agents from the leading internationally spread Signature Travel Network.

The magazine’s travel editor Jacqueline Gifford described Fiji’s private island resorts “as just what you are looking for if you’ve ever imagined your honeymoon as a secluded escape”.

She said it’s the ultimate but with various price ranges for different islands you can more affordably stay in a beach front private cottage or bure.

Tourism Fiji CEO, Josefa Tuamoto said CNN.com is read by millions around the world and ranked the 16th top website in the US with 670,000 primetime viewers logging on every day.

Tuamoto said they are delighted with Fiji’s recognition and hopes it will drive more interest in Fiji and convert more couples to select Fiji as their honeymoon destination.
