Fiji One and Pacific Channel to be removed from Sky Pacific next Friday

Fiji One and Pacific Channel will be removed from the Sky Pacific lineup of channels from next Friday.

Section 42 of the Media Industry Development Decree restricts any local content from being carried on Sky Pacific after Digicel takes control.

Digicel Fiji expects to take control of Sky Pacific from April 1st.

Digicel Fiji’s Chief Executive Officer Darren McLean said only Sky Pacific will broadcast every Super Rugby match and the SANZAR Rugby Championship live on the Sky Pacific platform.

McLean said all games on the popular HSBC World Rugby 7s Series, including the 7s events in Hong Kong, Singapore, London and Paris will be screened live on the Super Channel on Sky Pacific.

He said existing Sky Pacific customers will enjoy the new content without any action required.

Digicel said they will also introduce two new channels, TVWAN and TVWAN Sports, soon.
