The Fiji Muslim League is currently distributing food rations to affected families in COVID-19 area lockdowns who cannot go to work and get income to provide for their families.

Executive Education Officer of Fiji Muslim League, Muhammed Shamim Ali says they have nearly 3,000 food packs to be distributed.

He says the food packs are expected to last two weeks.

Ali says they know that other organisations are also assisting and the government is also giving food and cash assistance. He says this is also to top up assistance to help in these trying times.

Ali says they also know that the children remain at home and this is to ensure that they are fed well.
