Today is the day when Christians everywhere commemorate the death of Jesus Christ after he was condemned to die by his own people, only to rise again three days later.
Right now 130 Catholic youths from different parishes in Fiji are taking part in the annual crosswalk otherwise known as the pilgrimage of faith which will see them walk and pray from all the Suva to Nadi.
A catholic priest taking part in the crosswalk Father Ioane Gukibau said it is a test of will, courage and faith.
Fr Gukibau explains the walk is not an ordinary walk, but one where those taking part need to walk together, pray together and be each other's strength through the hills and the heat on the way to Nadi. Today the group leave Semo village and continue on their walk to the Ashram or the place of prayer.
