Family mourns only son’s death
A family is mourning the loss of their only son who lost his life in a road accident along Yasiyasi road in Nadera around 6am today.

A family member said the 29 year old was on his way back home when the incident happened.

The Aunty said her nephew was a nice person adding that they called him the invisible member of the family as he usually spent most of his time in his room watching tv or playing games.

A post mortem is expected to be conducted next week.

Meanwhile, police say the man was driving the vehicle with two other passengers when it hit a lamp post.

Spokesperson, Ana Naisoro said the driver was taken to the CWM Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Naisoro said the two passengers who were in the vehicle fled the scene.

It is alleged that the driver was drunk as he smelt of liquor.

It is believed that the group was returning from a night out.

Police are now looking for the other two passengers.

The road death toll now stands at 36 compared to 37 last year.
