Investigations are underway to ascertain the source of false information provided to the Fiji Islands Revenue and Customs Authority (FIRCA) which saw officials seal off the Mineral Water of Fiji Limited factory yesterday.
General Manager of Mineral Waters of Fiji Rohitesh Naidu confirmed that FIRCA was given false information that their company is shutting down permanently.
Speaking to Fijivillage, FIRCA's Acting General Manager Customs and Excise Jalal Ud Dean confirmed that the operations at the factory have resumed as they investigate the matter.
Meanwhile, as the ten water bottling companies prepare to make their individual submissions to the Finance Ministry on the export and excise duty on bottled water, FIRCA continues the stock take of bottled water held by the ten companies.
