Fiji Rugby Union Chief Executive John O'Connor

Fiji Rugby Union Chief Executive John O'Connor says the priority at the moment is ensuring that all unions and players are complying with the Government’s requirement, after Ireland cancelled their tour to Fiji.

Ireland Rugby Union cancelled their test match against Fiji which was scheduled for July because of the recent rise in COVID-19 cases in the country.

He says FRU are supporting all Government initiatives to try and control the widespread of the virus.

O’Connor says all players have been asked to do their own training but in compliance with COVID-19 restrictions.

The Skipper Cup and the Inkk Farebrother Sullivan Trophy competitions are currently on hold.

The Flying Fijians were also scheduled to play the All Blacks in July although no details about the proposed test have been confirmed.
