The Fiji Revenue and Customs Services has asked for orders of the Suva High Court to dispose of the Shenanigans yacht and $15,000, which belong to Australian couple John and Yvette Nikolic.

Revenue and Customs Services is represented by their lawyer Orisi Verebalavu while the owner of the yacht Yvette Nikolic is represented by their lawyer Wasu Pillay.

Pillay has told High Court Judge Justice Daniel Alfred that Yvette Nikolic should not be punished by having the yacht taken away from her because of the actions of John Nikolic.

He says Yvette has been acquitted of the charges and it was also ruled that she had no knowledge of the drugs on her yacht.

Verebalavu says the owner of the vessel is not relevant. He says the fact that the yacht was used to conceal the drugs makes it liable for forfeiture.

John Nikolic has been found guilty of importing 12.9 kilograms of cocaine and 34.4 grams of methamphetamine with an estimated value of between $20 million to $30 million.

He will be sentenced next Friday.
