After raising some concerns about the bad road conditions in parts of Navua, the Fiji Roads Authority says these roads have been made safe and accessible and all bus routes have also been made accessible.

These include Tokotoko Road, Tokotoko Back Road going towards Togoru Road, Thompson Park Road, Naitata Road, Calia Back Road, Nakavu Road, Viwawa Road and Rovadrau Road.

The Authority says under their “Road infrastructure works a priority” bus routes are also of top priority, especially in rural areas which have been drastically impacted by the high-intensity rainfall in the last three months.

FRA says due to the emergency of accelerating restoration works on the damaged road infrastructure across the country, they will engage more contractors and resources to rapidly address these routes to restore to proper serviceable levels.

The Authority says they are also endeavouring to accelerate immediate restoration of road infrastructure that has been affected and make roads accessible to all.

Meanwhile, some residents say that Viwawa, Nasasa, Rovadrau and Nakavu Road are still in bad condition and need to be repaired.

Drivers say these roads are in bad condition and they have to think twice before driving on these roads as it damages their vehicles which makes it even expensive to repair.
