FNU denies having agencies in India

The Fiji National University has today clarified that it does not have agents in India or any other country recruiting students for the FNU.

The university's reaction follows reports that an international ring including locals posing as employees of the FNU were believed to be luring students from India to study at the FNU.

The report stated the students, mostly from rural Punjab in India responded to advertisements placed by people claiming to be agents of the FNU.

However, a statement from FNU clarified it does not deal with any recruiting agency in India or any other country.

The university also had at no time authorised anyone to place, or placed, any television advertisement to recruit students from any country outside Fiji.

Over the past two weeks, the university has received reports of Indian recruiting agencies attempting to bring students to Fiji and FNU maintains that these activities have not been authorised by the university.

The university has issued advisories to all students to be wary of agents purporting to represent the FNU.
