Blues hooker Kurt Eklund has been suspended for three weeks for his wrestling-style tip tackle on Crusader Sevu Reece at the weekend.

Eklund, who scored two tries in the 43-27 loss to the Crusaders at Eden Park, will miss games against the Chiefs, Hurricanes and Highlanders.

The Blues must now wait on the fate of prop Ofa Tu’ungafasi, who was also cited in the aftermath of the match for foul play, and will appear before a Sanzaar judicial hearing tomorrow night.

The Blues will take on the Chiefs at 6.05pm Saturday while the Hurricanes will face the Highlanders at 6.05pm Friday.
