The Children’s Ward at the CWM Hospital received a generous donation from Digicel Fiji including five Smart TVs, three unwired broadband modems, and access to DTV streaming services that will help make the hospital a more enjoyable place for children by giving them fun and educational content during their stay.

Digicel Fiji says four of the TVs will be located in the Children’s Ward and the Outpatient Clinic, bringing comfort with free DTV viewing.

They say this includes access to DTV’s most-watched channels, such as Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., and Love Nature, as well as a selection of children’s films and cartoons. The company said the fifth TV will be placed in the Paediatrics Conference Room, where it will serve as a valuable tool for physicians, nurses, and medical students.

They say it will help with meetings, online learning, and training for healthcare workers, and with the unwired broadband modems, it can also stream content that will benefit both children and staff.

Outgoing Digicel Pacific Regional Hub Markets CEO Shally Jannif says the company is giving back to the community by donating TVs and modems to CWM Children’s Ward, which will provide comfort and consolation to child patients at a trying time.

Digicel Fiji CEO Farid Mohammed expressed that this donation of TVs and modems demonstrates their commitment to the community.

He says it’s a fitting tribute to make this donation to the Children’s Ward, and they hope it will have a positive impact on the lives of the children and their families.

He adds that the company is proud to help make the hospital a happier and more welcoming place for young patients.

Dr Laila Sauduadua, a paediatrician at CWM Hospital, says they are thankful to Digicel Fiji for this kind and helpful donation. She says there are several benefits to having access to such technology and free internet, which will be shared by the children, and their families, as well as the hospital staff.

She adds that the Smart TVs and DTV’s great selection of children’s shows and movies will help young patients feel more relaxed, entertained, and happy, and that the team can also keep learning and improving together with better internet and a conference TV.
