Digicel and TFL will continue the bidding for other lots of 4G frequencies in the Communications Ministry organized auction today.
The auction continues with the two companies not securing any new frequencies as the bidding continued yesterday.
Vodafone Fiji has already bought 6 lots of 4G frequencies at a total cost of $864,000 in the first ever auction of 4G frequencies in Suva on Monday.
Vodafone has exited the auction.
Some lots were won by Digicel and TFL on Monday and these have been allocated to them.
TFL Acting CEO Ivan Fong said TFL is trying to secure as much spectrum as possible.
So far Digicel has secured three lots of frequencies at a total price of $1.26 million while TFL has secured three lots with a total bid of $1.5 million.
Digicel currently has the highest bids for another four lots of frequencies with each standing at $185,000.
4G is the fourth generation of mobile phone communication technology standards which provides mobile ultra-broadband internet access to laptops with USB wireless modems, smartphones, and to other mobile devices.
