Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro

The review of the National Curriculum Framework by the Ministry of Education is expected to be completed before the end of this year and a new curriculum could be rolled out at the beginning of next year.

Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro confirmed this during fijivillage Straight Talk with Vijay Narayan when asked when Fiji's outdated school curriculum will be changed.

Radrodro says the current program is being reviewed to address the demands, requests, and questions raised about its relevance to the needs on the ground.

The Minister says the full curriculum review is necessary because it must go through a validation process before being implemented in 2026.

He also highlighted that his officers are working diligently to review the curriculum from Year 1 to Year 13 to ensure that all reforms and amendments are completed on time.

Radrodro adds that he has shared his concerns with the relevant departments, including the Curriculum Advisory Services, to explore how best to align the school curriculum with the needs of the job market and better prepare students for the future.
