A year on from the December 5th Military takeover, the interim government and the country is doing well.
Speaking live on Legend FM in a special interview on the December 5th takeover in the last hour with the theme " Where to From Here", the Interim Prime Minister, Frank Bainimarama mentioned that FICAC has been a good creation amongst other issues that the interim administration has carried out.
The Interim PM also said that the Constitution provides us with guidance and abrogating it would not do us any good. He also revealed that back in 2000 the military was forced to abrogate the Constitution.
Also during the interview Bainimarama revealed that the military takeover should have taken place in 2001.
When questioned on why he did not he carry out the takeover in 2001, Bainimarama said that they decided to give, the then Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase time to mend his ways.
