Complaints against officers alarming
A total of 1,005 complaints against police officers were recorded from 1st January to 16th of this month.

In a statement issued last night, Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Ioane Naivalurua said the cases are alarming and needed to be addressed immediately.

Brigadier General Ioane Naivalurua added that 291 cases were reported in relation to unprofessional behaviour and conduct of police officers.

Another prevalent issue which raises a lot of concern is the inaction by police officers in attending to reports which according to Naivalurua depicts a negative picture of the organization.

He said the force is mindful of these complaints and allegations, and will deal with these complaints in a speedy, efficient and transparent manner.

Brigadier General Ioane Naivalurua has reminded police officers to be professional in their conduct and work at all times.
