Civil service reforms are critical and will increase efficiency - AG
Acting Prime Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and SODELPA MP Salote Radrodro

Acting Prime Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says civil service reforms are critical and they will be implemented to increase the efficiency of the civil service.

Sayed-Khaiyum made this clear after SODELPA MP Salote Radrodro asked him to advise parliament as to why the Ministry for Civil Service has not presented its 2015 Annual Report to enlighten parliamentarians on the progress of the civil service reforms.

He says there is no Annual Report for 2015 because there was no Ministry for Civil Service that year.

However Sayed-Khaiyum says that they have updated parliament regularly on civil service reforms, the open merit recruitment system, the salary aspects and the report that was done to benchmark salaries that the government is now implementing through the job evaluation process.

Sayed-Khaiyum says the reforms will continue although the opposition does not want this to happen.
