Church leaders in the Pacific to come together and fight against climate change

There is a need for climate change to be stopped and the Church leaders in the Pacific are required to come together and share solutions relating to the issues before it is too late.

The rising of sea levels, flooding and soil erosion are the key factors of climate change.

While speaking to the media during the opening of the Pacific Churches for ecological stewardship and climate justice workshop, Head of the Catholic Church in Fiji, Archbishop Peter Loy Chong says it is time to stop talking but more on doing actions.

The Tuvalu Minister for Home Affairs, Climate Change and Environment, Doctor Maina Talia says climate change is an urgent issue that requires collective action.

Doctor Talia says the Pacific Churches and civil society have witnessed the changes impacted by the climate crisis and it is now the time to act before it is too late.

He hopes after the five days of the workshop effective outcomes will be revealed in the forum on ways to collaborate on the issue of climate change.
