Executives of the Methodist Church of Fiji have been moved by the concerned raised by students of Nakelo District School through their performance at the Tadra Kahani "The Dream Story Stage Show” last night on the importance of preserving our turtle’s species.
The Methodist Church which came under the spotlight last year in the annual church conference in Macuata for the slaughter of turtles is now taking a new approach in trying to preserve the rare species.
Assistant General Secretary Reverend Tuikilakila Waqairatu said last night’s Tadra Kahani theme from Nakelo District School to save the turtles is a clear message on how important the species is to our people.
Reverend Waqairatu confirmed that they are working closely with the concerned authorities after last year’s Macuata conference to try and teach the members the importance of protecting the endangered turtles.
