Concern has been raised with the Commissioner of Police by members of the public that police officers on the ground are not taking reports or registering matters at police stations.

While speaking to the senior managers in the Fiji Police Force while opening the one-month Superintendent’s Qualifying Course, Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu highlighted that the standard of service delivery continues to decline.

Tudravu says he expects increased visibility and mobility on the ground following the rise in the 2025–2026 National Budget.

Tudravu also emphasised the need for improved service delivery and better feedback systems, where officers need to engage more in conversations about issues affecting people on the ground.

The Commissioner also revealed that he has received numerous reports and messages from members of the public claiming that some officers are unwilling to write their reports.

Tudravu adds that many petty issues are being brought directly to him, matters that should be handled by officers on the ground.
