Buna hatrick puts Drua into the final in front of historic sold out crowd

Super fullback Atelaite Buna scored 3 tries for the Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua Women to help them secure a 25-14 win over the Western Force in front of a sold out crowd at the HFC Bank Stadium to book a place in the 2024 Super Rugby Women's Final.

The Force took an early 3-0 lead in the 12th minute with a penalty kick at goal after Drua prop Ana Korovata was yellow carded for a dangerous tackle.

The Drua had a chance to level the score in the 14th minute but the kick by flyhalf Jennifer Ravutia went outwide of the left post.

Drua fullback Atelaite Buna scored the first try of the match in the 20th minute with the conversion unsuccessful to lead 5-3.

The Force kicked another penalty in the 24th minute to regain a slight 6-5 lead.

The visitors extended their lead in the 28th minute to 11-5 after scoring an unconverted try in the corner.

Korovata came back from her yellow card to score an unconverted try at the stroke of halftime for the Drua to trail 10-11 heading into the break.

The Force started the second half with another penalty kick at goal in the 45th minute to extend their lead to 14-10

Buna scored her second try in the 48th minute with an unsuccessful conversion to give the Drua a slight 15-14 lead.

In the 67th minute, Drua second five eighth Mere Rokouono took over the kicking duties and slotted a penalty to extend their lead to 18-14.

Buna put the final nail to the coffin in the final seconds of the match with her 3rd try of the match followed by a successful conversion for the win.

The Drua Women will now wait for the result of the second semi final tonight between the Waratahs and the Reds to determine their opponent in the Final.
