The 2023-2024 National Budget will be delivered on 30th June.

This was highlighted by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka while meeting with civil servants in Taveuni.

Rabuka says the budget will be a needs based budget adding they expect that it will not be a popular budget.

The Prime Minister further says they have to make clear to the people that government’s resources are limited, and as limited as they are, the government can provide for their needs depending on government revenue.

He adds they must be very prudent in the management of resources given to them to serve the people, not only at a political level but at the administration, and each stage that they are engaged in.

Rabuka urged the civil servants to be kind in their approach, that even though they could not give people all that they need – civil servants need to explain to them why Government cannot do that.
