Tenders have been called for companies to come forward and remove pine logs at the site for bauxite mining in Bua.
Conservator of Forests, Inoke Wainiqolo said operations for the Bauxite mine in Nawailevu is dependent on the removal of these logs which have been lying in the area for close to two years.
According to Wainiqolo, while a monetary value is expected to be placed on the pine logs, Fiji Pine is looking at someone to buy the logs.
Fiji Pine Limited has called for expressions of interests from companies, entities and parties for the purchase of pine logs.
The company stated that interested parties can collect a tender document providing details of this arrangement from their head office in Drasa, Lautoka or from the Fiji Forest Industries in Malau, Labasa.
