Babies Allegedly Thrown into River
Nausori police have taken a 22 year old mother into custody for allegedly throwing her two babies into the Rewa River on Monday night.

Divisional Crime Officer Eastern ASP Ramesh Chand confirms that the bodies of the two baby girls, aged two months and 1 year 10 months, were found floating in the river by police yesterday afternoon after conducting a search.

Chand said the woman who is from Khalsa Road, is believed to have had a heated argument with her husband after which she allegedly threw her babies into the river.

According to police, the mother was missing from home from Monday night and when the man managed to locate his wife, he was advised that the babies were thrown in the river.

Police are currently questioning the mother and charges are expected to be laid later today.
