Australian Defence Force Engineers supporting RFMF’s Blackrock project in Nadi have been deployed to assist with Fijian Government response efforts in the Northern Division following Tropical Cyclone Yasa.

Captain Cameron Laing and Warrant Officer Liam Wardle are working with the Ministry of Health and Medical Services, NDMO and RFMF to ensure all COVID-safe measures are in place to support the smooth insertion of HMAS Adelaide personnel to their working quarantine bubbles.

This will ensure Australian Defence Force personnel are able to support the RFMF in establishing immediate solutions to damaged schools on Galoa Island.

The two army engineers will remain in the North to assist NDMO as required.
