Ashneel Sudhakar removed from his ministerial position
Former Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources Ashneel Sudhakar

Ashneel Sudhakar has been terminated from his position as the Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources this afternoon following the allegations of sexual harassment and his refusal to resign as a Member of Parliament.

The confirmation has come by the FijiFirst General Secretary, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum in the last hour.

Sayed-Khaiyum says he met with Sudhakar this afternoon and the hand over was done earlier this afternoon in the presence of the Permanent Secretary.

Sudhakar remains as a Member of Parliament and the FijiFirst will now start the disciplinary hearing process regarding the sexual harassment allegations.

This is based on Sudhakar refusing to resign as a Member of Parliament.

Sayed-Khaiyum says they had earlier showed Sudhakar the statutory declaration by the woman who has made the allegations, other documents and the woman had also come in for the meeting.

The disciplinary process will start soon.
