This is after Cabinet approved the Airport Departure Tax Amendment Regulations 2011 today based on submission by Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama.
This will ensure that Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority distributed the $100 Departure Tax as intended by the government, with $10 to be remitted to Airports Fiji Limited and $90 to be directly remitted to the consolidated fund.
Commodore Bainimarama said it was announced during the 2011 Budget that from January 1st 2011 FRCA will administer Departure tax.
