Fiji national airline Air Pacific had to reshuffle its aircraft today after one of its Boeing 747-400 developed a mechanical problem yesterday on arrival at Auckland International Airport in New Zealand.
Airline engineers are currently working at resolving the mechanical issue in order to return the aircraft to service as soon as possible.
Chief Executive Officer Dave Pflieger said several of their international flights required a change in aircraft in order to cover the weekend schedule due to the unavailability of one of their jumbos.
Pflieger said Air Pacific will be adding additional 737 flights in order to accommodate the backlog due to the mechanical on the 450-seat 747.
He said services are expected to normalize soon and customers are advised to contact the airline.
