A total of fifty five fire fighters will undergo intensive emergency ambulance training from next Monday.
The Acting Chief Executive Officer of National Fire Authority, Aseri Radrodro said that the three weeks training is timely as NFA is still in its early stage in the Ambulance Response Service.
Meanwhile, the Residential Representative of JICA Fiji Office, Juichiro Sasaki said that the first emergency treatment given to a patient in any kind of accident is very important and can be a decider of life or death at times.
He said one of the two officers providing the training has helped during the Tsunami rescue mission in Japan earlier this year where proper treatment was one reason why hundreds of lives were saved.
A total of 12 fire fighters have so far trained at the Matsusake Fire Department in Japan since 2008.
