38 private general practitioners to provide free services from Monday

You can expect better access to health services as 38 private general practitioners will be providing free medical services to Fijians throughout the country from next Monday.

The cost will be paid by the Government.

Government will also engage private medical laboratories for the analysis of blood samples referred by practitioners engaged under this scheme.

Five medical laboratories with outlets in Tavua, Ba, Lautoka Nadi, Suva, and Labasa have been selected with government paying the full cost for tests.

In addition to this, four private dental practitioners have been engaged in Nakasi, Nabua and Suva to provide free dental services to Fijians.

This is for people who are fully dependent on the public health system for dental services and are not existing paying clients of private dental practitioners.
