33yr-old bus driver remains in police custody over the death of a 30yr-old man from Nakasi

The 33-year-old bus driver who is alleged to have caused the death of a 30-year-old man from Nakasi, remains in police custody.

A 30-year‑old man from Nakasi lost his life after he was hit by the bus along Foster Road in Walu Bay on Thursday afternoon.

Police say the victim was standing on the side of the road when he was allegedly hit by the bus driven by a 33‑year‑old man.

They say the victim was rushed to the CWM Hospital where he underwent surgery but passed away late Thursday afternoon.

The victim's post mortem examination was conducted yesterday and the cause of death confirmed to have been from injuries sustained due to a motor vehicle accident.

Meanwhile one of the two passengers that sustained injuries from an accident in Lautoka on Thursday has been discharged from the Lautoka Hospital while the other is still recovering.

Police say the driver has been cautioned interviewed and released as investigations continue.

The accident claimed the lives of two men who were from Wairabetia, Lautoka.
